Shay Kahani
Experiencing difficulties with sexual connection can feel isolating. Struggling with trauma that keeps you from connection can make that feel even worse. My passion is for helping clients to explore their sexuality and find the right place for them. To explore their past traumas, to be able to live a peaceful life, and to feel better about themselves. My work involves helping clients explore their feelings and become emotionally stronger.
I also recognize that traditional “talk therapy” doesn’t always help break past the negative messages that drive shame and pain and I aim to incorporate trauma-informed methods including EMDR, Expressive Art Therapy, and mindfulness as a way to get “unstuck” from your trauma.
As a result of my continued training in the field of sex therapy, I enjoy working with a wide variety of sexual concerns such as: intimacy, sexual trauma, parenting issues, broken trust, sexual identity exploration, sexual dysfunction, vaginismus, open relationships, passion, sex addiction, pregnancy and post-partum depression, changes in the family and relationships, LGBTQIA++, and more.
I also work with folx in the LGBTQIA+ community, ENM/CNM and other forms of open relating, the kink community and more. I work with individuals, families, and couples 16+.
Through your work with me I hope you come to know yourself and your partner(s) better and experience healing to give you the fulfilled life you deserve.
